Cal Poly Distance Club (CPDC) is the official running club of Cal Poly SLO. From the most casual to most competitive runners, the Cal Poly Distance Club is a great space to challenge oneself and establish community!
Join our team for races in California and beyond!
Members have the opportunity to compete with other clubs and teams across the nation. We race cross country in the Fall and track in Spring. CPDC has earned a reputation of high achievement in the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA). Recently, our men’s team placed 5th in the nation at the 2025 NIRCA Cross Country Championships.
But we’re not just about racing!
Members enjoy access to social events, which are a great opportunity to form close bonds within the club. Some of the most popular events include adventure runs, CPDC Formal, The Pizza Run, and an annual camping trip. Work hard, play harder!

Monday-Friday, 4:30pm at the Cal Poly Track (behind the pole vault pit)
